History of the Friesian Horse
The Friesian horse is one of the oldest European breeds native to the Netherlands. It has been used for riding, agricultural work and as a calvary horse. The popularity of the Friesian horse declined and by the beginning of World War I was in danger of extinction, but revival of the breed began during World War II when there was a shortage of vehicles.
