skewbald horse Skewbald is a horse of any colour other than black with the overo and/or tovero pattern. The amount of white and coloured patches can vary immensely and the patterning on each horse is unique. The coloured patches can be any colour other than black eg Bay, Dun, Chestnut, Brown, Grey, Palomino, etc. As Bay horses show 2 colours (black and brown), a Bay Skewbald may show 3 colours (black, brown and white) and is then sometimes referred to as a Tri-Colour.
