I am very excited that I will be ordering a HB506 very soon. :D But I am still thinking about a few things and I need to make my mind up really soon.
Which side would you place your ramp? The way I see it, in an emergency the horse should be able to offload the way they came on (as long as they can back up). Also, you could end up getting stuck somewhere where there are bollards or a close wall hedge on the passengers side so, to me, I can't see there being much difference on which side the ramp should be... it all depends where you get stuck during your emergency.
Tack packs - I have heard mixed reviews about these but have also heard that the new ones are better than the older types.
Opinions greatly appreciated!

...Anyone?
Having had a good think about the ramp, I think it's best off being on the left hand side.
Unless someone manages to persuade me otherwise I won't be going for a tack pack... there are just too many people complaining about them and why are there so many second hand on ebay? Makes me think they're useless items to have!

tack locker things and geranlly not much use, most of the time you can chuck it all in the car anyway the only time they could be useful is if your doing a lot of long over night shows and need to take extra stuff
my trailer is an equi trek so has a tack locker but i dont use it my saddles wont actually fit in it!
Ramps sometimes people want them on the right so that if you do break down then you can unload but they started to put them on the left because obviously you shouldnt unload horses into traffic, i woudl go for a leftone, most are so the horses are used to coming out from that side

Hi
I'd agree with ramp on the left for the same reason in case (god forbid!) you had to unload on the hard shoulder etc
Personally Chewy hates travelling with the tack pack in the front I think he gets claustrophobic and potentially it's too noisy? Thats just a guess though cos obviously never been travelling in a trailer along with tack and horse!
Not sure what size the version is you are getting though? Is it the real biggy? If so lovely and lucky you! Actually just getting a nice new trailer is very lucky!

Thanks for the replies, they've been very helpful. I don't think I'll go with a tack pack. I want the Ifor Williams HB506. I have been saving my rear end for this trailer - I've wanted a trailer for years. I wasn't planning on going for a new one but they hold their value so well - it makes sense.
Can't wait! :D

I have a 506 in black. I love it!
I don't have the tack pack, I don't think I would use it. I do however, have the ramp on the left for the reasons stated above.
I also went for
high brake light - safety
sliding windows - comfort and soooo good!
lockable spare wheel - waste of money - still haven't actually locked it!
stowage net - fab!
graphics - look good!
Trailer vision thing - superb!
Trailer aid - again for safety!
Don't go for alloys if you want to use a wheelclamp. Have fun!
