Red Rufus

Hi all, :)

Jacks sire is Red Rufus, no idea on dam. I've googled and googled and googled some more but can find very little on him!! :(

There was a Red Rufus who was the first triple crown and also coronation crown (i think) winner in India back in 1966, but this will be too old.

There is also another I've found on allbreedpedigree who was born in 1976 - so could be possible as Jack's 14. He's a pure bred TB from what i can work out very good racing lines! Red Rufus' sire, Busted, was incredibly good from what i can find!

So, maybe Red Rufus just couldn't cut it in the racing world or something :confused:

Just wandered if oyu lot could help dig up any information at all? :o

Where did Jack come from? Was he imported to your knowledge? Did he come with many papers?

It's quite likely that Red Rufus could have been bred for racing, but was turfed out due to being a poor performer, slow, etc.
There is a Red Rufus born in this country, however was born in 2000.
