Misty was PTS today aged 31. She had been at our livery yard for 26 years, and her owner loaned her to me for 16 years to compete on. She retired 5 years ago.
She was starting to fade away and losing interest in life and it was the best thing for her to be PTS at home surrounded by people she has known for all her life.
She was an amazing horse, only 14.3, but the bravest jumper I have ever ridden. In 16 years she never refused a single jump, including a 5'6" chase me charlie fence that I was petrified of.
We once beat the winner of the amateur grand national at a hunter trial, much more down to her than me.
Simply the best girl ever, miss independant that she was RIP.
