I need to get Basil a new fly rug - mainly for protection from UV.

Needs to be as light and breathable as possible as he'll need it on all summer.

Any ideas??

I really like the Rambo Fly Buster, I have one but rarely use it anymore but one yard I had Mac at was full of flies and had very little shelter and after a cheaper one got destroyed in about a week I bought this one. They're tough but lightweight and keep your horse cool and fly free.

rambo hoody is excellent but expensive
ive got mine premier equine ones this year as the riggy gelding of YO ripped all the rambo ones! they seem just as good so far!

I have a Horseware Amigo bug rug which are very good. According to the manufacturers they: 'Protect your pony from insects, UV rays and dirt with the new Amigo Bug Rug from Horseware Ireland. The super soft, breathable sheet includes a removable hood, extra long tail flap and extra long drop with front leg arches to cover the lower areas.
Features include:
- Knit Polyester, soft, breathable, light
- Neck Cover removable with Velcro tabs
- Front Leg Arch allows extra depth of sheet
- Tail Flap extra long with elastic to hold tail
- Tail Cord to hold sheet in place
- Original Front Closure with double Velcro
- Crossed Surcingles
- Nylon over mane to prevent rubs

Really good in the summer after you've given your horse a bath etc, as they keep them really clean if they roll. Definitely recommend them!
