In memory of a gentle giant who never put a foot wrong. ♥
I'd put a search thing up or him on this forum a while ago, but by chance someone saw my picture in a group on facebook today and commented it. Apparently he died about 4 years ago.
I knew he would be old now, but I guess you expect his type to go on forever don't you?
Well, I've not seen him in years but I am still really upset.
Paddy was my first love! Even before the days of Toffee.
I used to ride him when I was a kid. After quite a few bad falls, my confidence was knocked, but Paddy really looked after me. For a long time, my hobby was not horse riding, but Paddy riding! He was a plod, big and slow :) But an angel. Infact, I don't remember him ever being naughty (unless you count the time he clamped his teeth round my best friend's finger and wouldn't let go, but that was NOT his fault- he thought it was food!!)
Anyway, one day his owner took him off the riding school. I was heartbroken that I couldn't ride him anymore, but I still saw him at the yard.
I remember one day I gave him a carrot and made a fuss of him. That was the last time I ever saw him.
He was sold :(
I tracked him down through one of those magazines a year or so later, and I spoke to his new owner. She said I could go and see him anytime I liked, but I didn't have any way of getting to the place at that time, so I couldn't. But he was happy and well, thats what was important.
All these years I have never forgotten him, and I'm just so sad to hear this today :(
R.I.P Paddy, always in my heart ♥
