View Full Version : Over reach boots!

Well on farrier's orders Harvey has to have over reach boots on when he's turned out. He usually trashes about one a week so obviously every time I need to buy a new pair but then the next week I match up pairs and when he trashes one it's a new pair if you see what I mean!

Anyway he has gone through 3 in 3 days! I just can't afford it! Two came in ripped to shreds and one just didn't come in.

So does anyone know anywhere I can buy a load cheap? OR can anyone recommend a good make that might last a bit longer?

Thanks!

Look on ebay to start with!!

Are you using pull on ones or velcro? I find the pull on ones are slightly harder to get on ( read that as harder) but they dont seem to trash so easily. Thats mainly what we used for the eventers, apart from the ones whose owners spent mega bucks on the professional choice ones etc which all seemed to rub.

I will say if you are having to put over reach boots on over winter too to coat his heels with vasaline or even have a supply of udder cream as mud likes to ball up under the over reach boot and can make them sore.

I cant use the pull on ones on Jack as his feet are way to big. I buy mine from a lady who does a snow hill catalouge. Google it. I pay £4.50 a pair. And buy a load in bulk from her every few weeks. It is difficult, Jack wrecks his to. I was paying like £12-15 for the wolf wear ones, but he was trashing them to much (though they are fab) Anyhow, I know use the velcro rubber ones. Hope this helps

Hey, yes I use the velcro rubber ones. Can't use the pull on ones even though I know they are best as Harvey just won't have any of it.

Have ordered a pair of neoprene boots just to see if they last any longer - only £5.99 so thought worth a try.

Nic thanks for the tip for winter. Will defo take notice of that.

Dez wears over reach boots all the time too. I use the rubber with velcro, they seem to rub less and be easier to keep clean.
Don't get the Trizone Over Reach Boots. I had some for my birthday, they were really expensive and rubbed within a couple of days, so I had to stop using them. They have an anti spin lump by the heel to stop them spinning - it doesn't work.
The neoprene ones sound good and if they're only £5.99 it's worth a try..
Dez only has one on at the moment, I have to wait until payday on Wednesday - She looks a bit silly but I thought one was better than none:o

roma over reach botos are really good super strong velcro and quite good rubber too they are about £4.99, the neoprene ones might last a bit longer although the velcor might fail as well

at least he isnt trashing his legs though

I have ordered six pairs of the Roma boots S&W, rubber and velcro, found them on equestrian clearance for £3.99. Glad they've been recommended now though!
