i took mo for a walk sunday only to be asked by a girl in riding clothes 'ohhh hes lovley, is he a colt?' :shocked:

i said no - shes a filly!! :lol:

Dont worry about it too much, Rowan looks like a girl, and coupled with the pink rugs that DO suit him, everyone thinks hes a filly [and the name doesnt help] :D

everyone else says shes pretty and you can tell shes a girl... but shes put on some more weight so Mos rather huge neck may have been the reason... :p

Not particularly! She's gorgeous though. I wouldn't get too offended - my friend was lunging her mare one day and, upon catching sight of some very scarey cows she proceeded to kink her tail up over her back and prance around the circle snorting! An old man came up and leant on the fence and say "God, he's lovely. Is he a full horse?" My friend replied, "eh no, it's a mare actually." Yer man then asked was she not broken yet and my friend had to tell him that she's a 12 year old dressage horse! Cringe!

we had a mare at work last year that was named Fred as previous owners thought it was a boy, and she blatantly wasnt she was really really pretty

No she doesn't........but its hard for people to tell if they are being all flighty etc.

I wouldn't get offended by it though :) I always get asked if mine are colts, mainly when with Jester, he was up untill a year go lol

Could be worse, I used to get asked by kids if they could stroke my donkey...poor mony was black, mealy muzzled and had big ears! I knew she was a pony!!
