My lovely day :)

Had such a nice day today :) Tasha left this morning which was kind of upsetting but the boys coped remarkably well. Spent some time grooming them etc then came home in the hottest part of the day and left them to it. How do you think they're looking? I heard on the grapevine that someone I know thinks they're very overweight but I reckon apart from being a bit grass bellied and Mac lacking in topline they're okay, I won't be offended if anyone thinks otherwise would like honest opinions please :)

Firstly Mac, I have honestly never known him so well and so relaxed. A few years ago, maybe even last year, Tasha going would have totally stressed him out - he'd have fence walked and been unsettled for days but today he called as the trailer went and they both stood and watched for a while but after that they went off and grazed and just looked up and around every now and again.

And Teej, he actually got more worried than Mac but settled pretty quickly. Can't believe this is the same pony Sasca posted pictures of when she got him, the difference is just well totally remarkable.

And then this evening I had a lovely romantic dinner with my boys, took a picnic to the field and just sat with them and it was just wonderful! Kind of sad that the nicest evening I've had in a long time is with my two gees :)

My dinner, cold bbq meat from last nice and cous cous with cucumber, avocado, tomato and mozzerella - Mac was particularly keen on the avocado strange horse! And of course the all important glass of wine!!

And sitting reading my book afterwards with the baby, I actually feel like in the last few weeks something has really clicked with the two of us.

Loving the picnic! Sounds utterly perfect! The boys are looking fab, to me that just looks like grass belly - Mags has ballooned since going out to grass and being out of work, but you can still make our your boys ribs and M is the same, you can easily feel his ribs. This weather is heavenly, isn't it!

I think they look completely fine for the time of year - nowhere near as morbidly obese as Bella is right now!! Sounds like a great day!!

Lovely photos, TJ looks spot on, I wouldn't want him any thiner! Mac looks good too although I would say hes got a bit of a grass belly but hes gets exercised so I wouldn't worry to much.

they both look great, why is it theres always someone we know who sticks their oar in.

I would say Mac is a little round but nothing major, he looksa bit like H now whos ballooned a bit. A nutritionalist said that horses are designed to get fat over summer and loose weight over winter and thats more natural :)

Thanks everyone, what Mac didn't steal from my picnic was yummy! :)

BC - he gets them with his summer coat but they're not visible in the winter, I really like them.

Helen - there's always got to be one! She and I don't really see eye to eye when it comes to how we look after our horses but problem is she's pretty knowledgable so sometimes it's difficult to know whether she's being bitchy or whether there's so0me truth in what she's saying.

I really enjoy just spending time with them and being part of their little gang.

I don't think either of them look bad at all!!! Mac is nicely covered but I do believe I can still see a few ribs on both of them so I'd say they were just right!!

Teej is looking absolutely fabulous! It's amazing how they transform from weedy, scruffy little things to these big strapping lads isn't it! I know Starsky isn't the same horse I bougyt home 16 months ago...

Aw the picnic is a really sweet idea!! I wouldn't say they were massively overweight at all, just a little grass bellied like you said.
