God, that looked horrendous when she first did it. Do you know how it happened? It's healed amazingly well in 6 Weeks. Hope it continues to do so.

Jane - it is hoped that Fleck will be pasture sound. I'm pretty sure she will always be lame due to the damage but not in pain

BC - Thank you so much for your comment. The bandage changing has been a challange i must admit and the first one i fainted with the vet just at the thought of having to touch it and deal with it myself. Thankfully now after MANY bandage changes i am hardened to it and can do them on my own. I'm also very lucky that Fleck is such a good girl and stands still for me.
I've never had so much medical stuff in my possession...my car looks like a vets car! I've got everything! :)

Wow she looks amazing! To say how deep and awful that cut was, I'd never have thought something like that would heal. Let alone so well! You must be so pleased :) You're doing a brilliant job! :D

Wow Lucy, you're doing a brilliant job! It looks a lot better already! Well done for persevering and being brave enough to tackle it at home. I went through 8 months of dressings and rehab with Moss, but it was all worth it to see where he is today! Keep up the good work!

what more can i say...basically what everyone else has said...give yourself and fleck a major pat on the back...the healing is fab after only 6 weeks...just out of curiosity but have you been using anything in particular to aid the healing other than washing and bandaging? tell me to butt out if you wish but i keep re-looking at the pic's and gobsmacked at how well she's healing...

Good grief i've only just seen this! I cant imagine how you felt when you first saw that! It's healed surprisingly well considering its right on the front of her knee. Each time she steps it must tear it open again. Poor girl.

I hope it continues to heal as well as it has so far.
