View Full Version : Bella's first sit!

27th May 2010, 10:22 PM
haven't touched these mares for a while and cant have good riding horses just sitting here so decided to get on with backing them!

Here's Bellas session! she's has a little nervy nature due to being beaten within an inch of her life the first time she met a human and was asked to lead. they thought 5 men and two sticks were a good way to persuade her in a trailer the first time she was ever haltered…

(slight bragging moment but i caught and loaded both sisters into the trailer, in a bout 20 mins each on my own! whoop!…brag over hehe)

Anyway….Both are very good to lunge so just bit the bullet and tried them out. Only go shots os bella as Esme exploded before we even got to the arena stupid horse! i just bellied over her hehe

Bella lunged well, pronged a bit at the saddle but it does have tickly bits on it! spent ages just banging the saddle wiggling it, making loud noises etc, jumping around her, then bellied then sat…she was very good but a little unsettled, nothing unusual and very good for a first time!

pics…instead of waffling….

excuse my big butt!!!

Clever girlie!

It was really hot but i needed a thick jacket as protection for my expected explosion! it didn't happen and i nearly had heat stroke! hehe

Hehe funkyboots Its a barefoot cherokke i think, or Teyhoe? one of them! really good saddle! i back everything in it, from the 17hhs to the 13hh, its fab and very comfy! i love it! i can guarantee that if they do explode, its not due to any pinching from the saddle!

ha Shaz, you'll be lucky! oh Echo will take everything in his stride, let you sit on him no problems, but happy foals HATE work! hehe, he'll give you some good arguments when you come to ask him to school i bet!

Thanks guys, Lucy - im only keeping Riff and Rowan as my own horses so the two sisters will be sold asap, along with the rest of the herds. Hopefully she'll find a better home once properly backed though, she's a gorgeous mare and deserves a good home now!

I think you have a way with horses and I applaud you for the work you do with them.
Those pics are great - she is lovely and doesn't look fazed at all, bless her.
