took a gang showing.

had an ok day...showing wise was really happy but its been a bit wierd lately and seem to have negative comments all the time!

Had one lady come up to say that Rowan was head shy and that i was cruel to him and beat him for whinying (i didn't i told him off for running into me and screaming, with his name! i think i shoved him on his chest to get him off but this is a foal with better manners then that!)

We then got a police visit to say that a report had been given that we were overloading and cramming horses into a trailer. We have a treble trailer designed for two 16.2s and a 14.2. We carried 2 14.2s (including rowan) and an 11.2! had to explain this to the police officer! grrr...

Anyway...the actual showing was good, Rowan got 2nd! whoop! and behaved very well. Noisier then last time as we took honey and he loves her but not bad.

We also took the newbie.

We had only got him on the friday night. Halter trained, bathed, rugged, trimmed feet, bitted etc on the saturday and shown on the sunday! talk about overloading...who says take it slow! bless him he was very good. He's called Blue and he's fully registered, 2yrs.

And then it was Honeys turn, she went in Novice working hunter and bless her, she had never seen anything like these jumps. There were some she didn't like but she tried, wouldn't jump the chicken house but who would!

She came third!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the first two weren't novices, grrr so she was the best genuine novice, that how i see it!

What a sucessful day, dare I say it but little Rowan is so much like his mummy, their head shape is very similar. Does that make it hard for you? He is such a lovely lad I can only imagine he brings you joy but it must be kind of difficult him being so similar to Hazel.
Blu and Honey are lovely and all did so well, you must be proud of them :)

ps you are looking fab! xxxx

You can have him GG!!!

thank you guys, those are lovely coments, especially Vels mum...thank you. Everyone can see Hazel in him but i struggle, i think ive blocked her out of him. I remember hazel as her own and for a while, resented Rowan. I could only get a bond with him once i started working with him and it soon became clear that he may have her eye line and nose...but he totally missed out on her brain! no where near as smart as Hazel was...definatly his daddy's brain in there! temperament wise he's the easiest thing to deal with while still having presence, his mums wonderful attitude to life but just not much common sense. a bit accident prone! can see a few vet bills coming up in the future!

My god if that isn't a ridiculously petty show of jealousy I don't know what is!! Your horses are all so well cared for and it radiates from them. Little Rowan is just stunning. Beautiful colour, bone structure, everything! And we all know I'm a big fan of Honey :)

they look lovly
i loveee love blue, what a stunning little pony. i want him hahaa

apart from some rude people souinds like you had a good day :) i'd rather see a young horse with manners and respects there handler knowing were its boundries are dont get me wrong its never acceptable to beat a horse , but they need to no they cant get away with everything. it would be far much worse off in the long run if the horses were allowed to walk all over there handlers and get away with it as the older and bigger they got the worse it would get. some people are very petty and should concentrate more on tehre own horses.

anyway glad you had a good day :D

thats it becky….Rowan has a lot of manners for his age and knows how to behave. He stands up for judge and turns by hand signals like this….

http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q262/Sasca06/Horses/Rowan/IPN_0221.jpg

He knows not to scream in my ear then stand on my and all i did was growl at him the silly ponio! and poke him with my stick in his chest!….The police thing was just no gooders getting involves which seem to be attracted to me!

well done, i would have called over the resident vet or animal welfare officer (i know they're at cattle markets) when the copper came over and got him to explain how a horsebox works and either got the nosey old bag to get pushed over by the pony or me (then the copper would have had a reason for coming over...lol)
