hey!

Haven't been on here much for a while but now i'm finished with uni for the summer i thought i'd give you all a little update. Not having the best time with horses at the moment, i had a lesson a week ago the day i came home from uni and it went really well but in canter molly tripped and stumbled and yanked me forwards cracking my neck and annoyingly my back hasn't been right since, been pretty painful so i've only done light hacking and some schooling for most of the week.

Thurs i thought my back had recovered so we went to do some evening SJ and just have a play round the course. Molly had never been to this venue before and i'm not joking anyone would have thought she was a 4yo and had never been out before! When she's unsure she naps quite badly, without dad we wouldn't have even made it to the warm up, she had to be led or more like dragged lol The classes were huge and we had to wait 2hr30 just to jump the 75cm so in that time we spent ages walking her backwards and forwards until she was confident enough to walk around on her own. The warm up was terrible, molly got herself really over excited, every time anyone came near her or anyone clipped a pole she'd take off bucking, leaping and squealing, not ideal with my back situation! Decided to go in the 75cm anyway cos we'd already entered and everything considered she didn't jump badly but she was incredibly wild and we got eliminated for a run out and a stop, nothing major she was literally just taking the mick. So came away feeling pretty deflated.

Then last night we went to do some evening stressage, to be honest if i hadnít already pre-entered i wouldnít have gone because my back seemed worse than ever after the previous nights antics, but dosed up on painkillers i decided to give it ago as she needs the exposure. It was all on grass so i wasnít holding out any hope of her behaving herself, however she proved me wrong! Very proud of her because as soon as we entered the warm up someone got thrown off and their horse came galloping straight at us which sent mol a bit silly but after that she settled right down. Considering she hasnít done any dressage since march i think she did really well and i could feel a big improvement even though the scores didnít reflect that with 61% and 59% lol.

Sorry to hear about your back. Get the chiropractor out!!! The horses get it but we don't

She looks great. Definitely more tense than in previous pics but if Saf looked like that after months off dressage I'd be well chuffed :)
