Where is the best place to go for 6 horses?

Do they give discount?

What price range is it?

Is it a waste of money or better for your horse?

How many people on here use it?

Thank:sick:

You can get them from the vets or you can buy home kits which you then send away.
My guess would be google both options and see which one is cheaper is for you. You may find for you and your boys, buying online may be cheaper.
I never used it but I see it as your not pumping your horse with unnecessary chemicals and providing the counts come back clear you only need to treat for tape-worm and bots (I think thats right).
If I get a horse I will worm count rather than just worm because then at least I can buy what I need and save money in the long run!

our vets do them, we drop a sample in for them and the next morning they ring with results it costs £5.

You sure they don't do discounts?

Maybe ask around other vets near you?? Online may bring some cheaper alternatives, Imsure you can get home testing kits?

I'll have a look on google, I thought it was a bit much, I'll email the vets again too see if they do discount, this is the only horsey vets close.

I use Westgate Labs when I get counts done.

I have to admt i haven't done one for a while (slap my wrists).........I brought a sample kit (for anout £10 I think) at a large show and still haven't got round to using it yet.

Not beig funny but I did a quick google search and it threw up a few companys who do them. Although I can't vouch for any of them as Iave never used them. Like I say I have always used westgate labs.

I get mine done through Westgate Labs. They send you the pots and the labels which are included in the price. They also do a discount. I know they have a 4 count pack as they call it for £29.00.

my vets are about £5 a time, but they come included with all the wormers in my worming plan i have with them,

i think the main thing you would struggle with is making sure you have the right horses poop and its not too old, when they are in stables its simple but you would have to isolate them all i would think to be able to make sure you had the right horses poop and make sure you poo picked the night before

someone said you only then need to worm for tapes and bots....you also need to worm for encysted red, probably the most dangerous one of all...if you dont know what your doing the best info is found on the worming websites i use abbey diagnostics £6.50 a go but as said you need the correct sample, fresh and sent off in 24 hours, the results will only be as good as the sample, and taking the sample needs to be done at the correct length of time after the last worming...when did you last worm and with what wormer
