Hi folks, thanks so much for the pm's asking if Kinzzy is in foal. Sadly she came into season on Monday, so obviously no baby in there! :(

She was due to be scanned tomorrow but after speaking to the vet, he agreed she was in season and cancelled the scan. No point in paying for that on top of everything else its cost me! :miffed:

So, i've cleaned all her tack and set about riding my beautiful girl. Got a couple of dressage events in mind and booked a couple of lessons just to polish us both up a bit! :) Not the end of the world I know, but sad all the same!

In time I will look to buy a younger but bigger version of kinzzy to show and bring on. Anyone care to help me shop? :D

thats such a shame! you tried so hard for that. Must be fun to get back to enjoying her again though, and shopping is allllways fun!!!!

p.s…..Holly was covered all last year, came into season all the time! and still squirted and chased boys this year and she is almost definatly in foal….that or she has a serious belly issue that she should be dead from! not to get your hopes up or make you spend money but i know a couple of mares that still went into season even though they were pregnant! dont know how but the did…. i dunno, your probably right though, it might just be the water round here!

Some mare still show in season when they are pregnant, Kizzie did, so it might still be wroth getting her scanned, you can still ride her if she is pregnant though

I did think that a little bit but after two years trying and each time she hasn't been, I suppose i'm a little bit negative. Vet said he would give me a shout if he was out this area and come and scan her anyway!

So sorry to hear this, i remember chatting to you last time about it and was really sure that you would get a foal this time, the stallion is generally a very good "producer" so that is such a shame!! It would have been a stunning foal!!

Good luck with the horse hunt though! That should cheer you up a bit :D

Cheers, appreciate the support! I've looked at a few foals but am still undecided as I want to be sure this time. I'm in no rush, I'll just keep looking. Part of me wants a weanling and part of me wants a 2/3 yr old. We'll see what comes along! :)

Awww sorry to hear no baby in the tummy!! Do you no why she is not taking? Is she dirty? and needs a wash out maybe?

What breed are you looking for?

We don't know what is wrong with her - we've had expert vets and she's been washed out, injected, scanned etc and its costs a fortune! :miffed:

Vet said there must be something fundamentally wrong with her - its not essential that she has a foal but it is very disappointing after you invest so much money and time into it. :(

I'm after another cob like Kinzzy but to mature to 15.2hh. They are quite hard to find! I want a youngster too as I prefer to do all the ground work myself and backing!
