Ive posted about this in General Equestrian chat that Im going to a show on 17 and 18 July, but Ive just been thinking. Do you think its too much to do a show one day, then again the next day?

Its about a 5 minute drive in the trailor. I’m doing one class on the Saturday which will be about half 9, then be coming home around lunch time. Were going with my friend from the yard in her trailor, and she’s taking her horse too.

On the Sunday Im borrowing my friend’s trailor who Im going with on the Saturday to take Bertie down on his own (slightly worried about him going on his own too…) and my other friend is taking him in one of the qualifier classes (ridden cob). That class will be 9.30ish too, then coming straight home.

Do you think it’ll be ok to do that? He’s been out in the trailor this year and has been to 1 show and was ok. I just don’t want him to stress having to go 2 days in a row.

As a rule, he isnt a stressy type. But I just worry about my boy

I would say you would be fine, especially if he isnt stressy and it isnt very far.

Wouldnt bother me, i often have to do two or three day shows with very long distances to travel, last week at work one of our ponies was down competing at hickstead whcih was a ten hours drive and did a test every day for three days then had a ten hour drive home

my pony club pony used to be out almost every night doing something, we did dressage on tuesay jumping on wednesday and then usually showing or a rally at the weekend

He'll be fine with it I'm sure. If shows don't stress him out then it's really only the equivalent to an hour or so ride each day.

I'm sure he'll be fine Amanda! It's not like you're have two long consecutive days of hanging around at showgrounds. It'll probably be harder work for you keeping him clean and doing his tack etc, than it will for Bertie having a couple of hours showing each day!
