Hiya all,

Rode Jakes today. Haven't ridden him for a week! His loaner has been riding and schooling him - she rides him so well :worship:

My God, he is such a brat-pony! Special is not strong enough. You ask him, then you have to repeat yourself as he forgets what he is doing.

This Cob is 8 years old! I have so much respect for my loaner! :worship: I remembered why I just hack him (which he is fab at!) Hard work indeed!

Excuse my leg position, fully aware it is utterly rubbish - anyone is more than welcome to come up and work him for me! :D:lol:

Me laughing at the OH as I was shocked he went straight down on the bit and started 'trying' to work from behind!

Jakes has a nice Welsh Trot when he wants to work!!

Now proper brat pony came out to play!

Trotting poles - which he has seen millions of times before, he has jumped a 2'6 course before with fillers, but nope, today they were the scariest monsters!!

Lovely photos, hes looking very well, you got a loaner rather fast!

It's his other loaner who is quitting the loan in the next couple of weeks, maybe.

That's a copybook Thelwell style refusal! Anchors well and truly slammed down!

Some nice work over the trotting poles, looking really nice.

Oooh he's gorrgeous :D

You have your stirrups quite short though! You might find it easier to keep your leg position if they were longer?

Haha I chuckled at that first attempt at jumping! He really knows how to slam on the brakes doesn't he. Well done for staying on. I can see he is NOT an easy ride, the little devil!

He looks like such a character, I love him, but I bet he drives you up the wall at times

Awww I loves Jake!!! I'd absolutely love to have a go on him. I'd imagine there'd be a lot of me sat on the other side of the jump looking a bit concussed and him stood there going 'you must be kidding lady'. Bless his cotton socks. Love that photo sequence!!

Thanks! He is a very difficult ride over jumps - one minute you have loads of confidence, he pulls you into the jump and wham, at the last minute the breaks go on! Little ***!! I think it's him though - he is so cheeky and playful and quite green. I am going to take some photos of my loaner riding him as she can get him to go beautifully. He is such a tank though! Thank you again! I was so worried people would slate me for my riding position on him - I ride for fun though and thats the main thing! It is such a priviledge to own a horse like him - he certainly keeps me on my toes (literally!) lol!

He's just gorgeous - both your horses are stunners Beks! Your photos always make me smile - I'm not sure how old you are but you look so young (meant in a nice way!)
Oh, and I'll start the 5 hour drive up to Wales to have a ride on your gorgeous boy right now lol - expect me at about 1am hahahaha! xx

Nice to see you riding Jake again, Beks! Its funny how they soon forget when they don't do things all the time. Well done for getting him to jump it eventually!
