Dressage today

[Frankie]

Very pleased with Milly today. Took her to her second dressage competition. It was very busy and well attended. She loaded first time! Yay, normally takes 3 goes lol. Travelled perfectly. Warmed up in a full warm up ring very well and was very chilled for her first test and we came 3rd with 66%. Got a couple of 8's and several 7's. Lost marks for downwards transitions and our halt which we are working on at home so very pleased.

The next test we had to enter HC as the riding club only let you enter one competativly. She went in and I could feel she was a bit more lively. Got some 8's for trot work and an 8 for some of our canter. Lost marks again on downwards transitions and our transitions up to canter (these consisted of some huge playful bucks!). Didn't wait to see where I would have come if I wasn't HC as I grabbed my sheet and snuck off home half way through the class! Got 64% which I'm pleased with. Main thing I'm happy with is our canter. Two weeks ago she was struggling to canter 20m circles without breaking in to trot but today we scored 7 and 8's for canter :D

And we have our first showjumping competition tomorrow!

Was it Flint and Denbigh RC that you went to? I know they have a rule that you can only enter one class competitively and they had dressage today.

I think it's the appreviation for the latin meaning of non competative but I can't remember the latin word lol. Starts with H and has a C in it though.......
