I live in Glasgow and don't have any experience of showing but would luv to take our just turned 4yr old welsh A to some showing shows. She is a stunning little pony with lovely paces, her dam is Waxwing Hurricane and her sire Fronbach Showman. Unfortunately I don't have a small enough rider for her as my daughter is 9st and 5ft 6 so classes would need to be inhand. Is there any shows within a maximum of an hours drive from Glasgow that is coming up for me to take her to ? What should I show her in, webbing or a show bridle, bitted or unbitted any information would be great.

Many thanks

For shows local to you, google 'The Riding Diary' - it lists loads of different events x

Waxwing ponies do really well, they are a lovely bred. Susan is from Glasgow she might be able to help but she is away on holiday at the moment. Send her a pm and she will reply when she gets back.

Only other thing I can suggest is look at the BSPS Scotland web site or the WPCS they will list the shows in Scotland. Also go to your local tack shop and pick up an Equitrader or similar free magazine. I know the one I get down here as a whole page of Scottish shows. In fact will take a look and see if I have one lying around, if not I will go and get one tomorrow and sent you a pm of any shows I can find.

Also she should be shown in a white halter as well. You can buy them with or a without a chain. Ours has a chain as I think you get a better fit and more control.
