Chestnut, the worst appaloosa in the world who is jet black, black spots on black we say, and what looks like a bay, who oddly managed to have two spots which is more than his mother ever has, but we think they are probably down to his dad being a grey, but would be interesting if it wasnt

Loony; Mixed if you want :) Spud's a varnish roan few spot, so he's a mixed too.

Appiano is just a nickname for a horse with a colour pattern with spotting, rather then it being a term for a full colour base. Hope that helps! :)

My past three horses have all been black cobs with 4 white stockings and a blaze :p

Basil and Gunner are bay, Prince and Oscar are technically sabino with their long whilte socks, splash white marks on their belly's, blazes and white chins. Though they are passpoted as bay and chestnut.

Spocks is blanket spot and roan. I think on his passport it is roan appaloosa as vet couldn't believe how much Spock changes colour.

But is Bay roan with dark spots in winter, with a dark mane and goes very strawberry roan, with dark spots in summer with a blonde mane! Inbetween he is grey and has dark spots.

Botched up my poll vote! Only voted for chestnut thinking it would register, then let me opt again, but it says I've had my vote and won't let me do it again!

Anyway, I have my dream colour horse who is bright chestnut sabino with flaxen mane and tail with 4 white stockings. I just love this colour :). Then I have a grey roan with 4 white socks. She will eventualy turn grey which is a shame, as she'll lose her socks :( Then I have a bay with 1 white sock.

Boo is meant to be dark bay (thats what vet wrote on his vac cert) but has also been described as a chocolate dun :confused:
