Hi guys,

Here are the videos. For those who missed my tantrum a few weeks ago, Zeb was losing energy and our dressage on the 1st August was pretty poor, I was very disappointed, he was easily distracted, not engaging from behind and seemed to be pulling him self along with his front legs causing a weird head nodding action (he's done it many times before so I know it's not lameness, as soon as he starts working properly he stops nodding ) on the whole there's only so much you can do with a 21 year old living out 24/7 in the summer. :( the really weird thing is that the judge gave us exceptionally high scores, she must have got the test sheets muddled up or something because I would not have scored them over 60% it wasn't just Zeb, my hands were all over the place and I just felt both tests were very average. If you just watch the first minute of one of them you'll see what I mean as they're a bit boring  The scores are on the intro's to the vids, I can't remeber off the top of my head.

So then YO kindly agreed to bring him in at night for a week before the next comp and he was so much better :) Only thing is that all his mates got to stay out and he was in on his own, I tried to manage the situation so he wouldn't get stressed but to no avail :frown: So he definitely had more energy but he was quite tense with it. This time I feel we did better but the judge was very strict :scared: She picked up on every tiny imperfection which was a bit ouchy but she also gave us loads of feedback so at least we have something to work with :)

My 2nd centre line was awful, don't know what happened there  but all in all it went better than the last show so I was pleased with him.

This one I was quite worried about, in the walk across the diagonal it was medium walk to X then a free walk but by the time I had almost achieved medium walk it was too late to get him to stretch  we did manage to get a bit of medium walk nicely at one point though later in the test. Also I broke into canter in the second medium trot  then I had to get him to relaxed and stretch on a 20m circle - no chance! We got a 4 for that movement :chuckle: but I was pleased that we did get a bit of stretch even if it was only a couple of strides. This is a test I would love to do again as there's a lot to improve on!

He looks very good to me, I think you're being hard on yourself! He lacks energy to start with in the first test, but seemed to improve as he went on. I didn't have a chance to watch all of them, but you look great together :)

Thanks Lou!

Lol lilholley thankyou, I just get frustrated as I know we can do better and I have no other way of competing after this showground ends for the season (other than doing it online) so I want to get it right, lil bit of my OCD shining through there haha
