I've put an ad out this week asking if anyone wants any help with their horses in return for riding. I reeeeeally can't afford a part loan at the moment so I'm just crossing my fingers that there's someone out there with a nice gee gee that's very strapped for time!
Do you think I'm being unrealistic? I'm a little rusty, only having ridden a couple of times this year, so it would have to be something fairly sensible. I just miss being around them so much!

Not unrealistic at all - you're a good, experienced horsewoman! There are definitely people like that out there, that's essentially what I have with Mags, I don't have to make any kind of financial contribution to his keep, its just time that is at a premium for his owner, especially with having two. Also I *think* that Twizzel has a similar set up where she shares care in return for loads of riding and getting to treat them as her own. Good luck Jill, keep us updated!

You should find someone who needs help who has more than 1 horse. I have 2 horses and i had someone to ride 1 of mine with me but she has now bought her own horse so i'm on the look out again for a rider. It's a pity you don't live near me.

Shame you aren't near me! I am ALWAYS strapped for time!. If I were you I think I might go for a couple of lessons first though - that way you don't need to advertise yourself as 'rusty'. I've had novices help out with my horses loads and it has worked really well, but I would be unlikely to answer an ad where the rider was saying they were rusty as if I dodn't know them I would suspect this meant a complete novice whom I would spend more of my time looking after!
