I was just looking through google images of Knabstruppers after posting on the Favourite Breeds post and found this picture..

It looks like a greyed out version of B!

Oooh, very similar! That would definitely make me think that he has Knab in him!

my old mare was similar to baliey in colouring, the roan pattern and spots but her was all over where as he has patches as well, she started off chestnut with a blanket and slowly raoned out but her ears remained chestnut it was really cute

That does look very similar! I doubt its grayed out though as the knap societies have excluded grays from breeding stock for a few years now.

It will be interesting to see how his colour changes over the winter as he is very diferent to when you first got him

I think he should go back to how he looked when I first got him.. we'll see!! It definately is SO like B though.

veyr similar, just less pattern! did you ever get that test thing done on him? is there a test you could do to see what breed he is?

Not that I know of.
Keep meaning to and then forgetting! I WILL do it this weekend.. Although we don't have any tweezers anymore..

The DNA test I'm getting will only determine if he has the grey gene so its not going to be anything mind blowing. At least I'll know if he'll grey out eventually or not though. And if he's not grey then he must be a roan. Its all very complicated. Bex101 explains it all better!!

Wow yeah very similar. There's one at my yard a bit like him but she's finer, similar colour though x
