There like bands that go across the stable door that stop the horse from going out with the stable door open. Its a thick band with a clip on that clips on either side of the door way. Have any of you ever used them does the horse notice them and not barge through? are they strong enough for them to lean on? Sorry for all the questions and i cant think what they are called or where you can get them? x

I have one for Red. He respects it and if he wanted he could break it, as it's only attached to bailing twine tied around the door edges!

Uva has a rubber coated stall chain, she respects it and has never tried to touch it let alone lean on it ;)

Saf's always had one and I never had any problems until I moved to the new yard and it was too high so being a moose she tried to get under it and snapped it off  She's been fine since I put it back on lower down though.

I have them on my stables and they keep my horses in! well, Toffee can get underneath, as it is at Champs height, but i just don't use it for her.

It makes life so much easier, especially with dina being on box rest. means i can muck out etc without having to shut the door.

Heres a pic of Bridie with hers. I used to leave her door open with just the guard up all day when she had bouts of laminitis.

Both M&M have these and both respect them - neither have ever tried to barge or lean through them, or to go over or under them!

I just use an old lead rope  works just as well :)

The only time Boo really leans on it is if he's itching his chest.
