My horsey is a star!

Did more grid work today just copying what we've done in lessons but i think i'm going to have to change it all around as molly was so 'yeh, whatever!' to start with she was verging on lazy/ careless! In lessons she really pings and i'm almost getting jumped off where as at home the jumps just don't seem to back her off enough! Even when i put the yellow blocks under she didn't seem to notice, think i'd better drag out the proper fillers! She's doing wonders for my confidence as she knows she's got to get to the other side, no question of stopping/ running out. Finished on 1.05m and she made it feel like nothing! it was only then that she was starting to use herself! Funniest thing is i've got to make a conscious effort to make her canter away from jumps as she'll happily pop over 1m and land in trot, she finds it all too easy

Some pics, i need to sack the camera man, despite me telling him, he insisted on standing too close

On this occasion mol decided it was a good time for a poo 3 strides out from the first jump! she pretty much fell back into walk, demolised the 1st jump, leaped the 2nd...

we got it completely wrong, my reins were like washing lines and i wouldn't have blamed her if she stopped, but she sorted herself out and popped it pretty much from a standstill, hence my very dodgy position :ashamed:

being uber careful with her front legs!

Now if this horse can't turn me into a good, confident jumper then nothing will!

Oh wow, she looks super! Having had a horse who is the worst 'dangler' ever I envy her tucked up front legs!

Well done both of you.

thanks guys!! it does make a lovely change, we'll have to see what she's like with really bright fillers first but she's an odd one as she's such a spooky horse in general but jumping wise she seems to see it in a different light and just get on with it!

Tanner- yes definitely planning on doing some SJ as eventually i'd love to have a go at eventing, in fact i think she's ready now so as soon as i can fit it in with uni we'll go have a play round some courses :)

Love the updates too!

Mol is looking fantastic, such a credit to you, and I hate to say it but you sit as nicely over a fence as you do on the flat, I hate seeing it when people ('people' DEF includes me haha!) throw themselves forward onto the horses neck when they're jumping! I wish you were a bitchy, up your own backside girl so I could hate you lol!!! xxx

has she not done her trippy lame thing recently? its really odd how you descirbe it

she looks to have a really nice jump on her and sounds pretty honest, she will come right and make a really nice allrounder, maybe have a go at some ODE's i think she would be great

thank you, i'm sure mol's head is getting bigger by the second lol! First SJ outing this weekend so we'll see what she makes of bright, spooky courses, hopefully she'll take it all in her stride!

welly- LOL! thanks for the lovely comments :) i've never been into throwing myself up their necks, just doesn't feel natural! Think cinders quickly drummed into me that i must sit up on approach and keep lower leg secure otherwise i'd be flying through the air solo! hehe

smile and wave- nope she's not done her lameness thing since, it's a bit odd but shows how insignificant it must have been, also booted her up ever since so i'm assuming it was just caused by her brushing or over reaching. As for ODE's that's definitely one of my aims for next year!
