Yesterday was my most local show, its in the village where my grampy grew up and the year he died (about a week before the show) i took goldie and we won everything we entered and took the championship too so its very special to me and i always go.

SO saturday i bring Xanth and Anni home to bath - Xanthe was an absolute cowbag, wouldnt stand still and i lost my temper and nearly didnt take her [:I] So i wasnt pleased with how she was looking, there was still grease in the top of her mane and her feathers/tail were yellowish! I wasnt very hopeful as she hasnt been to a show this year and that was her first bath of the year!
Anni was a star as usual, showed Xanthe right up and stood stock still to bath, bandage ect! [^]

So get up the field at 7 sunday morning, expecting to find a very dirty Xanthe as she had to go back out in the field...but was very surprise when i found no dirt at all, not even on her feathers [:0] [lol] although her lycra hood had ridden up and was over her eyes! Its a good job she is sensible, she came trotting up to the gate as if to say 'Help Mum!!' [:p]
Anni on the other hand had a huge stable stain on her side and on her hocks despite being in with a huge fluffy shavings bed wearing a full lycra body suit and a fleece [}:)]

So i cleaned anni up, brushed Xanthe, re-bandaged them both and off we went!
Got there and un loaded, got my stuff on...including my newly dyed pale yellow shirt (Thanks Tor for the yellow duster trick [8D])
and Went into my first class with Anni in the Small M&M youngstock.
Anni was being very strong and took to snapping her teeth at me when i held her back [:0]

*disclaimer* I wasnt hitting her here!!

But on the trot round she managed to keep her composure...

For all of 2 seconds...
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b203/xenaWarriorprincesss/Twyning060909005.jpg
But stood nicely for the judge!
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b203/xenaWarriorprincesss/Twyning060909007.jpg
And trot up nicely again, even if she was a bit strong!!
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b203/xenaWarriorprincesss/Twyning060909012.jpg

And we came 4th!!

So all in all i was very pleased with my girly, she wasnt as silly as she was at the last show although took to rearing when the people next to her/in front of her went off and has learnt a new trick of throwing her feet out to the side and tripping me up!! She also broke into canter quite a bit in our big trot round but thats probably my fault as i have taught her to play chase in the field with me [B)][:I]

Then had a little break untill Xanthe's class so anni had some grass and we had a chat with a friend who we havent seen for years who breeds/shows welsh A's!! She was Goldie's biggest fan when i had him and loved anni!

Xanthe - was her usual chilled out self! Had someone come up to me and say how beautiful they thought she was [:I][:D]

A bit better!

In the line up, we were initially pulled in 7th, the mare stood next to us was Xanthe's best friend when she was a yearling untill milkshake was sold when xanth was 3!! She is now owned by the YO of where i took Xena for lessons and was shocked that i knew her when i spoke to her after the class!!

After our individual trot up (when she had woken up a bit!) we were pulled up to 5th which i didnt think was bad considering it was her first show this year and i think she looks terrible compared to some years!
The YO of the RS loves her and thinks she is looking fantastic so that made me smile, she also thought we should have been placed higher but i was pleased none the less!

At the trailer after!

Both look gorgeous! I can sympathize with the fidgeting while being bathed, Magic only keeps still for me to wash his back, anywhere else and he's all over the place lol

Thanks everyone!
Emm - she shouldnt make more than 12hh if she does she will have to be re-registered as a sec B so fingers crossed she doesnt!!
Xanth is coming on nicely, am struggling to find time though as Dad works till late in the week so have to stick to weekends as i dont think i should risk doing it on my own! Her new girth ect came the other day so going to try and ger Dad to come home early a couple of nights and try and get her hacking out by Xmas! The she will have a month or two off and then back into work in the spring and hopefully out doing ridden showing next season!!
Colouredred - she wont even stand still no matter what part im doing! I have to tie her really short and hold her headcollar with one hand most of the time!! SHe swings her arse round and knocks me flying, not nastily but just blooming clumsy!! Cobs eh!

Fab pictures! I love them both... we don't see enough of them!

Re. the bathing issue. Dina is pretty nifty with her back legs and hadn't been bathed until this year. She has learnt to stand still though, by being cross tied short so she can't move. Works a treat, and so much safer.x

Anni has grown and filled out so much since I last saw pictures of her. She's really blossomed. I think she'll be super as a 2 yr old. I would invest in a halter with a chain though. It will give you loads more control and should stop her being silly! Xanthe is gorgeous and very clean and white. Well done on you results :)
