Ok then, gonna take the plunge and see what happens.
Will add some piccies a bit later but I have to find my old photos.
So here is what info I had.
15.2hh Arab/Arab Type Gelding.
At time of purchase no "branding".
Purchased in 1993 from a dealer named Les Churchill who was based in
Coulsdon in Surrey. I know that this dealer has since past away.
He would have been about 2-ish when I brought him.
He was at the tiem of purchase a deep dapple grey with silver/black mane and tail.
I was told his original name at the time was Ryhme.
Part exhanged him for my Bay TB mare. "Did the deed" in a lay-by in Sevenoaks (just incase that helps).
Purchased with the help of Taylor Riding Establishment (since closed down).

Ok then, as well as using the section correctly to list details of trying to trace Blues history, I though I might add what steps I am taking and how I am getting on swith my search. You never knwo it might help someone else out in their search.
So I have contacted the daughter of the riding school owner to see if she can remeber any details of the time I brought Blue. She and her dad were the ones who took me to collect him and looked him over for me. It is a long shot but at least it is a starting point. They used to buy a lot of the riding school ponies from him (as well as break a few in) so I am hoping there might be a sliver of helpful info in there somewhere.

Righty then...................................it seems there is now no point in me doing a trace on Blue.
It works out that instead of asking questions over the internet I should have been asking closer to home.
I decided to try a different route to those I have tried in the past and dropped an email to the daughter of the owner of the riding school that helped me buy Blue.
This is the reply I got this morning:
Hi, Blue was born in Les's field. His mare was got at by an arab colt, the mare was arab x, the field is in Banstead, Surry under the motor way, he has not got papers, nor have his mum or dad.
Sorry, not much help. Oh his was sat on by Les's son twice before you brought him.
At least I know know his history. He is a 3/4 Arab accidently bred by the dealer. Although it is kinda nice to know that (other than the dealer) I have been the only person to have owned him.
So, I think that is a good result. :D

Thats fantastic!!!
I know, but I could really smack myself because the answer has always been right under my nose.
I just wish I had known back then. They never disclosed this info to me when I got him. And to know he had only been sat on a few times when I got him is a surprise as he was such a darling the first time I rode.

Well Done ! :D It's so nice to know their history.
Baby came to us from the home she was born at so thats an easy one and I've seen pics of her being born :).
I often watch Chip's racing videos just to get a glimpse of his previous life. I've tried emailing his old trainer....twice.... just to let her know that he's ok and to hopefully get some pics of him but she hasn't even had the courtesy to respond! Considering he won for her I would have thought she'd at least be interested to know that he ended up in a good home!
