i was on a photo shoot today, talking to the makeup artist, who was about 30 odd. got on to the subject of how she broke her arm.
"well i recently sold my ridden mare, and i missed riding so i tacked up my unbroken gelding and rode him down the drive, we didnt get to the end of the drive."
i was like WTH!!!! "serves you right, the poor horse!" with a reply of "dont you mean poor me HE broke my arm...."

Ha! The stupidity of people never fails to amuse me!!
I knew of someone similar whose horse had been sat on once, so they took it down a major main road and were surprised when it reared up and over backwards!!

how silly of her! you can't expect a horse to "work" when they haven't a clue what to do!

As Bex101 said, she got what she deserved and if she expected anything other than that to happen then she is a dull cow

I know someone who had just had a pony broken to drive. They were told it was not ready to go to a Steam Rally!!! but ignored this advice and took him.
They were giving rides, and at lunch time tied the pony up still in his cart and went to the beer tent.
An engine back-fired or something, pony panicked, tore through stalls, tents, people the lot, smashed cart to smitherines and generally caused havoc and panic!
Pony is no longer safe to drive and refuses the cart.
Rule no 1! Never tie a horse up when in a cart, unhitch cart first!
Rule no 2! Listen to someone who knows what they are talking about!
Rule no 3! Connect brain!

Some people are a danger to themselves and members of the public .
What did she expect to happen with a horse that isn't broken to ride. I took my boy steady and i still expected some high jinks when he was backed.
