Vel will be 4 in April this year (where has time gone!), last summer I lightly backed him with the help of my local instructor. He has been turned away for the winter and im itching to get started with him!

Chloe has her next Pony Club Camp in Orkney the first week of April and ive decided to take Vel down the week before to get some lessons from the instructor down there, it will all go towards his education...being in a new place, travelling and doing a little bit of ridden schooling with an instructor for the first time.

Im going to take Jack down too so Chloe has him for camp.

Dollie is also going to Orkney the middle of Feb to be backed professionally so hopefully we will all come home together (she will have been down there for 6 weeks by the time we return).

cant wait for it all to begin!!!!!!!

 Ooops so I did!!! :ashamed:

Lorraine feel free to move :innocent:

Rowy, Im going to leave him till April. Ive had about 2 very short hacks on him since last summer and a few times out on the long reins so we will start the re-backing in Orkney.

Bex - I cant wait to get busy with it, its been a long winter! ;)

It will be really interesting to see how Dollie gets on, tbh I think she is itching for a purpose in life, but someone just needs to take the stroppy mare in hand and make her realise she aint the Queen bee and hopefully they can get around her marish ways!
Think it will be real shock to her system initially but I believe she will sore in confidence.

Exciting stuff!

How long does it take on the ferry to get down to Orkney with horses? I've just been looking on the map! where about are you on Shetland? xxx

Cat Im a 20 minute drive from Lerwick thats where the ferry leaves then a 6 hour journey on the ferry, I think it leaves at 6pm and gets into Orkney at mindnight.
