We found Loui this morning in the field :(
The big idiot had practically crawled under a high steel gate and made a hole in a bag of feed, and then proceeded to gorge himself. When the bag was empty enough he dragged it through and finished it off...a shetland went through 2 stone of rolled oats, barley and added protein mineral...you can guess the outcome we found today :(
He miraculously survives Grass sickness when everything else dies, he was a bag of bones all last year, we had him on everything under the sun including vinegar and yoghurt to pull him through...he finally gets fat, glossy and healthy again and kills himself through greed. Such a stupid way to go. To get the food he must have gone on his knees and put his head right through a small gap and eaten like that for ages. We had amazingly high hope for him as well, his parents are champions and he was sure to follow, we weren't ever going to sell him.
This sucks and i thought i was passed all this. Ive had horses for years, and managed years without so much as a vet bill, till Hazel knocked the balance and i guess my curse is making up for lost time.
RIP Lotuspoint Thunder, you were an absolute treasure to own and a remarkable pony that survived his fair share of hell, only to be gone so cruelly. The most tolerant nature and a gift to have owned, your will be painfully missed little man.
