I have advertised my mare on loan but dont seem to be getting anything back and i dont know what to do.

i have 2 horses 15yr old tb gelding and 6yr old tb mare unfortunatly i havent been able to give my mare the time n effort she needs.
i work full time mon-fri and saturday and sunday morning just to pay for the horses, i compete my gelding in show jumping and due to lack of time i havent done anything with my mare since she was broken so its right back to square 1 with her n i just dont have the time to do anything.

im wanting someone to loan her to help with bringing her on and help wih costs. I’m looking for a competent rider, with experience of riding young thoroughbreds to take my stunning little mare on full loan. (16hh, 7yrs, bay mare)
This mare has the ability to take to any equine discipline and do well. Offering a blank canvas and challenge for the right person.
Once she is fit and going well I’m happy for her to be ridden every day and out to shows or events whenever possible.

She must stay at current yard where we have extensive off road riding and grass gallops-also lots of summer comps at a local yard within riding distance.

The cost will be £25 per week and will cover all expenses, including: vets fees, insurance, farrier, dentist, livery and feed.
The loaner will not have to do any stable jobs or early mornings basically just turn up n spend time with her having fun and riding.

This will all be done threw a contract it’s not a case of her getting fit and been sold on I just want to see her been ridden and having fun-and the loaner will also be able to ride my gelding until my mare is fit n ready to go.

am i asking for too much n do people ever take younger horses on loan?

or can anyone give me any other ideas of how i can get my mare bk in to work -- if only there were more hours in a day

Its a time of year thing. Who in their right mind would take on a horse in the winter?

I would like to add that those of us that already have horses are way off being in our right mind but for those without or just thinking of having one there is still hope!

I think a lot of people who want full loans would want to move the horse to a yard of their choice so that may put some people off, what you're offering is more of a part loan share agreement with a set price each week (albeit riding available every day)... seems like a good deal to me. Also time of year could be stopping people but that said we are through the worst of the weather and the evenings are slowly drawing out now.

Sounds like a cracking deal to me, I'm a sharer and I would take your arm off for that! Where are you based by the way?

Sounds like a brilliant offer, as a part-loaner I would totally be interested had I been looking. However, I agree with above, its more of a part-loan if the horse must stay on your yard, however the riding everyday would totally out-weigh this (what some may consider) negative. She sounds like a cracking horse, and many people would love the opportunity you're giving them. I think the only thing putting full-time loaners off is the potential for you to make someone do all the work sorto speak and then withdraw the loan and take the credit. Not saying at all your intension is that, but many people woulld look at the add and see a lovely green horse for loan for these very reasons :)

Good luck finding someone:) xxx

Thanks guys all your replys are very good, its nice to hear someone elses take on it.
My only reason for not wanting to let her live somewhere else is just coz iv had her since she was a baby n shes only ever lived with me, i know its soppy but id just miss seeing her so much. maybe i would consider letting her move with her loaner once i knew they got on but it'd be a big choice for me to make, my horses are my kids. haha

And i totally know what u mean about people thinking id want them to do all the work, thats all covered in a contract for loan agreement so the loaner knows where they stand on everything.
I have no intention of using anyone as a mug to bring her on and then jumping on her myself, i want it to be more of a long term loan kinda like a foster mummy.

were based in hillam/monk fryston leeds so if u guys no of anyone that would be interested then please let me know

once again thanks for the feedback.
