had lessons with B and K this week
:)
2nd ones of 2011 eeek!
B-
started off walking long rein and a 20m circle each rein, then trotting whole arena on loose rein just getting her forwards and making sure we were going straight on long sides (at 60m its quite hard!)
then few 20m circles.
back to walk and rode few squares making sure she was bending esp on the left rein when she likes to fall in and my left hip likes to do odd things!
then same in trotthen we did 20m circle and practiced doing walk steps 1 horses length and back into trot- making she she didnt collapse or plant her hind legs in the downward transition or hop up into the trot.
then did some centre lines trying to make them as straight as possible- again hard on 60m!
Then added in a halt and tried to keep the straightness too.
then we did canter work. whoop. at the moment we are struggling a little with the forwards- i get a bit tense for some reason and i like to look down so she runs too much. so j used a lunge whip to just offer a little help to get good trans- omg she POWERED into the canter and her shoulder came right up and felt fab.i even made a little squeak noise at the feeling lol! and then she kept that lovely power in the canter too!
today i rode her twice and we just did trot work but she was so lovely and forward and worked on the stretchy down trotting and then more up to the bridle....she really tries so hard!
K-
well spookiness continues..lol.
think its as shes not been out for 6months so now shes seeing things lol
warmed up same as b but with a nice canter (marred by 3 spooks!) as well on track. then did leg yeilds in trot to c line and back out. then some c lines with a walk or trot trans- again concentrating on the straightness
some shoulder in on circle and long side got her swinging more and then a few marker to marker mediums and then back to a trot a bit more collected than working marker to marker.
then same with the canter. canter work was interesting as shes tending to come back at me too much esp when she spooks so i spend a few circuits really getting her forwards and taking me- pretended i was on uphill gallops for brisk canter. her back softened and she reallyt stepped under. then concentrated on keeping this on 20m circle in the working canter.
and today her canter was really good- she was really holding herself nicely and felt so responsive and full of impulsion- even possible a little too much!
so plan over weekend- ride twice a day on both mares, plus riding pig for hack each day.
k can do some canter fitness work as one sessions basis and another with supple work and poss poles..... may also do inhand de spook work
b- will tackle the canter work on own tomoz eeek...plus transitions.
the in afternoon poss just simple trotting work with poles....
had slight trauma today- bessie my lovely little box was taking me and pig to the local farm ride- and we only got 3mins down the road and it started making an odd noise, then smoke came into the cab and up from bonnet and into the actual box. poor pig started to stomp about getting anxious!
i was pooping myself, turned it off trying to immediately think how to unload horse-ramp on side and road has deep ditches!
it stopped smoking straight away so thought maybe some oil on engine- started up fine, made funny noise but thought need to get home- literally only 100seconds away, so did million point turn in road and pooped self again thinking oh poop im literally in middle of small windy lane with 60 limit, if we stop here....... anyway got home, got pig out checked she wasnt coughing etc, un tacked her. she was very annoyed she had got her hacking boots on but unloaded at home again¬! then checked she wasnt too traumatized by asking her to load again- well she dragged me in as normal so phew!
anyway fuel injector seal has gone- so thats 480 quid............BOO!
so no competing for b this weekend!!!!
