Its mid day where they are now and the mare looks ready to go. Alarm isnt on yet though. If i remember rightly this mare is 20 something years old and predicted to need assistance for the birth.

Done, within a minute of the waters breaking the whole of the 2 front legs were out. Thats great progression for the mare BUT she still went and pulled the foal out and it was born about 2 mins later. Whats the rush?

As far as technique goes it was probably the best Elements birth i've seen, unfortunately it was completely uncalled for but for her i suppose it was a good one. After about 20 mins she went back in and picked the foal up to make him stand until he finally stood on his own. Why, i dont know? She didnt try and get him to feed or go near the mare just kept on picking him up when he fell.
Maybe tea was on the table and she wanted to get back to it?
