Well sorta, if you can call it that.

Tonight I went to put Siscos rug on, I see Magic standing there acting strange, he was throwing his tongue about, I was joking in my head that he reminded me of emms Ferdie, I went up to him, talking as you do, tucked my head down and he put his ears flat back, "Don't you dare I said" that was it, so checked his body over, nothing wrong, I then noticed snot as in(clear stuff) dripping out his nose, I was stood in front of him, I went to bend down to touch his nose/mouth etc and he charged at me, almost knocked me flying, then went to bite but my elbow was in the way, I was utterly shocked, this is my boy, I've had since 10 month old, first and last time hes every tried to bite was when I first got him, its very unlike him I was almost in tears because hes never ever acted this way before, I'm not sure what I think it could have been, Monty was acting the same, he was throwing his tongue about, he then went for the other 4 boys, this is very unlike him too, they both kept looking at the ground, sniffing and licking it even though there was nothing there, I'm thinking maybe someone has fed them something they shouldn't have, I hope they are not the same tomorrow but I'll be ready for it this time, He knows he won't get away with behavior like that( if it isn't pain related), I won't stand down.

So a very down rheabird:mad:

Ah hun don't be upset. Maybe he just had a bad day or feels a bit under the weather, we're all entitled to be a bit grumpy at times. xx

Be careful love, I know you trust them all but just watch out while they're acting out of character - for whatever reason, don't want you injured xx

Sounds very strange. If he doesn't usually act this way with you then he might be trying to tell you that somethings wrong..

I thought maybe they had been stung!
Just keep an eye on them and try and have someone with you like others have said just in case. I know you no your boys but like you said this is out of character and really don't want you to get hurt :(
Hope they are all ok!

it doesnt sound like choke to me - with choke the underside of the neck will go hard, due to the neck contracting - i should know, my old boy choked alot, and millie and mo do it cos they really try to bolt their food, they will usually hang their heads down, as if to cough - and they also my cough.

to me it sounds strange but that is NO excuse for going for you - its not your fault something is up. id be very wary in the morning lady..... DONT for god sake try be all hard and not 'back down' if he goes for you... you are smaller, weigh FAR less, and are not even half as strong as him!! you will be the one in hospital..

who was it? all you put is M.

I've never heard of choke untill HH said on the other side, I'm not sure it is but I am getting worried now, monty was acting the same but didn't go for me, didn't see no clean snot, Sorry it was magic, very very unlike him, he could have been trying to tell me something.

Well Chip bit me on the arm yesterday whilst I was tacking him up. It was more of a nip but I have a huge bruise now. He's acting very grumpy and he was the same this time last year. I think its the very short grass with a high sugar content. Baby is also acting quite moody.

Today whilst out riding, my daughter was behind us and she has a horrible habit of allowing Baby to walk right up Chips bum which annoys him at the best of times. I'm always telling her to keep Baby back. Anyway today he'd had enough and he literally ran backwards trying to kick Baby, she got out of the way but Lauren got kicked in the knee! Thank goodness Chip's unshod as although she is very sore, had he been shod it would have been far worse.

Rhea be careful. Assess the situation today and if they both the same it might be worth a quick phonecall to the vet for some advice.

Hey, sorry to worry you guys, thanks for being concerned :) I've been with him all morning until now, they both seem better, When I went down magic was now where to be seen, I heart jumped out, I eventually found him, I tied him up and checked him over fully, had a look in his mouth which he was ok with me doing, I did find a little thorn on the side of his nose part, he wasn't too happy with me trying to get it out but was fine after.
So I think we are ok, I did take my riding hat just in case but there was no need too, I was thinking after, he didn't have his forelock tied up so maybe he thought I was one of the others? I've tied it all back now, I've been giving him lots of fuss and we've been out so hopefully it was just a one off.
