I知 currently looking at buying an Andalusian colt and I致e been given the names of his Sire and Dam but I知 not getting very far with finding anything about them. The Dam is not graded so I知 not sure how this will complicate matters.

Does anyone know of anywhere that I can contact or go to, to be able to find anything about them? Their names are (apparently)
ZEUS XLVI (sire chestnut PRE)
DESEADA CXLVIII (Dam)

Both are apparently quite small (for the breed)

Thank you :)

I think with andes the XCVLI rubbish is to do with who bred them but im not toally sure on that and wouldnt hold me to any of it lol, maybe try contacting a spanish horse importer or breeder in this country, i also think they do somthing similar to the KWPN that the Letter of the name dictates when the horse was born, with KWPN i think this year we are on 'G' so a 'D' horse would be a three maybe 4 year old if i can manage to do the alpabet backwards lol

Was the colt born over here? If so you could try searching NED.

CityLights - the numbers stuff is what I'm finding really confusing! Interesting about the letters, might have a look into that!

Bex - He was born in Spain and i had a good old search on NED yesterday just incase but nothing came up

thank you!

I have a few friends in the spainsh world i will try and see if they could find some info for you. But if the mare is not P.R.E reg it will be hard to find out anything.. plus it will be hard to reg your colt to. they like everything to be p.r.e reg. Was the sire or dam branded that could help as that tell you what stud they were bread at. And also if you had the breeders name as well. Also i should warn you if they were small for the breed and you colt dose not make over 15.2hh he will not be able to graded as he will deamed to small, lucky this did not come into acton before my man was reg. Silly in my eyes as the spainsh are ment to small and big for every size of person , but they are now trying to breed them to compeat against the warmblood and inso of doing this they are wiping out classic old blood lines and make me very sad.

Thank you for all the info! I'm afraid i know nothing more about the sire and dam other than what i originally said, so i have no idea if they've been branded or not. I'm not too worried about not being able to have him graded or registered as PRE, I'm not planning to breed from him or show him (other than local level) I just love the breed!

It is very sad that they're breeding them bigger now, when I started looking for one I thought that I'd find quite a few different sizes, but almost everything was over 15.3. It seems wrong to compramise the bloodlines just to compete with Warmbloods!

they are such a lovley breed of horse ..lovle them i dnt think in my eyes u can get a better horse. i'll send you a link if you want on how your colt should be turned out from baby to 2 yr old and from 3 on wards.. they tend to shave them. ( manes and tails off till they are two)
