Only on the back end? Even if they are not working?

Merlin has been sweating lately but only his back end, hes just wet, all down his legs, his bits and half his belly, every day this has been, he seems fine in him self, only thing I have noticed is him swishing his tail and resting his back leg more but it has been hot and mega load of nats about!

Hes been ridden last few days and seems like hes sweating from the backend aswel as sweating from standing in the field.

Could it be that he is basking in the sun? Went to field at lunch time today to catch Raife flat out, went over and sat with him for 10 minutes, he was sweating between his back legs and around the flank to belly area, could be the case with Merlin?
As for when exercised, Gandalf tends to sweat round that area at the moment, but hardly any on neck, only a little under girth.

How odd. Mine have been a bit sweaty the last couple of days due to still having their winter coats and its in the 20's down here. But they dont just sweat on the backend, usually the "armpits" and neck too.

If you're concerned maybe give the vet a ring and see if they think it sounds anything to worry about? Mine are usually happy to chat about odd things like that over the phone if im not sure im panicking over nothing
