I was working tonight so OH volunteered to bring Bailey in (would have got the yard to do it but he seemed keen).
I got in from work at 6:30 and asked if he'd done it but he had forgotten. I said no probs I would go down but OH insisted on going.
15 mins later I got a phone call, he couldn't find his headcollar so I told him where he could get a spare. He got it and started walking down to the yard. But that headcollar is different and he couldn't figure out which way it went or anything so I spent the next 10 minutes trying to describe it to him over the phone until he got to the field.
10 mins later I got another call, he had searched the 25 acre field but couldn't find Bailey, it was pitch black and he didn't have a torch so I drove down with a torch but only a tiny one as the 2 big ones were flat. I then searched the field too without luck and then realised part of the fence had broken and he'd gone into the 50 acre field!
I headed towards where he usually stands if he's in there but he wasn't there so decided he could just stay out, as I was heading back to Dave I saw some more horses so walked over to them, he wasn't there. Then as I was walking back again I saw him in the distance!
So eventually after searching 75 acres I got him! I've learned 2 very important lessons:
1- Replace batteries in flat torches (and keep one at the yard now)
2- Don't trust OH to do ANYTHING!!
