Quite surprised actually they got in contact with the W/B company that made the rug, they asked if I had washed it at all, which of course I hadn't, so they said send it back so the W/B company could test it etc.
But now I'm wondering if I should, If they turn around and say there is nothing wrong with it, I will end up ruggless and no refund? I can't see them sending it back if I'm wrong?(or do they ahve to)
God knows how much its going to cost sending it back too, do you think I should ask them to pay the p&p or is it a bit cheeky?
There are a few holes in the rug, nothing major but they are horses at the end of the day, its going to have wear and tear no matter how long I 've used it for, I have taken some photos(waiting for them to upload) to send to them and go from there? what do you think?
I dunno

What was wrong with the rug? Sorry must have missed a previous post. Just wondering as I have just purchased a Weatherbeeta Orican and you seem to be talking about something wrong with a weatherbeeta rug...?

If it has holes in it the horses have made, then i dont see them doing anything about it
If it was absoloutley brand new, not worn, but you somehow found that it wasnt waterproof then they might do something, but if your rug has got holes in it, and your saying its waterproof, they will most likely tell you to get it patched up and then just respray it?
I know they have a garuntee or something but i think with the holes it changes the matter. Rowan has an Orican and i've got several WB rugs and never had a problem

Gillian, I brought this rug march 08, only used it in march this year and the last 2 weeks, My horse was quite wet the when I turned up so my guessing it was leaking, I have never had any problems with WB rugs before.
Thats what I thought BC, didn't really know if there was any point in sending it because of the holes, Don't get me wrong I think W/B rugs are pretty good, never had any problems with my last lot.
Heres a pic I took today.
It has 2 holes in the tail flap and if you look closely a little Line above the 2nd belly strap on the left (you might have to zoom in.

Is it me, or has that rug faded?

I'm not sure how WB will react to the holes. It doesn't look very good for such a small amount of use. I had one WB rug in the past and it was useless. Never waterproof. Never bought one again.
I went back to using Masta rugs and they were brill. My oldest Masta was 20 years old and still waterproof and serviceable (probably looked in better nick than your WB after just 6 weeks use).

I know its dirty but the dye did run within a few days I noticed I actually thought I was seeing things, glad you've pointed it out.

It has, another reason why it looks older then it really is, I noticed the color ran not long after.

I love masta too, I've had my one 8 years, although it looks old its still waterproof, best buy ever.

Eeeek, I hope my new one is waterproof!! It's the weatherbeeta orican detach-a neck heavy turnout. So its got to keep her dry in the winter.
Thinking about the last weatherbeeta I had slipped badly on her. I hope I've not bought a dud!
I think you may struggle to get money back on something that is a year old, although if it a waterproofing thing over the whole rug in general and not just around the holes then maybe you will be in luck.

My friend had that one for her horse, who managed to get under a fence (don't ask lol) on xmas day and rip the back off it. They got it repaired and then gave it too me, after they sold the horse. It's not a bad rug, mine leaks in haevy rain only but that's because it has a patch on it. Personally I don't like the fit of it round the shoulders and chest on Chubbles, but he has a Weatherbeeta Landa and that's a nice fit, so not sure if they got a bad batch or something.

I reckon it's worth a try. I would send it off making it clear how little you've actually used it. If they do decide it was faulty and give you a new one then I would ask them to refund your postage too but if they decide it wasn't faulty I imagine they'll return it at their expense but not refund your postage.
Tell them you've used their rugs before and have never had any problems but this is putting you off buying their brand again. If they think you're a regular customer that might stop buying from them they might just replace it for you without even testing it.
