My Mum might be allergic to the ponies!

Well, as the title says, just this week, my Mum is getting an allergic reaction when she goes in the ponies block, it's affecting her eyes, nose, face and lips! The block is separated into 4 bays, the first two are stables, the third stores the food and the 4th is the chickens home!! It has only started this week, so it could just be coincidence with getting the the shetties, she seems fine handling them etc, it's just when she goes in the stable block. She's not prone to allergies either. We put fresh shavings down this week, so they bagged those back up in case it was that affecting her, and no change, i've suggested moving the hay out, in case it's that.

Before getting the shetties, the Sec A's only came in for an hour or so each day, to be checked over, my Mum thinks it's cos the shetties are in over night, although I pointed out to her the forst week we got the Sec A's they were in over night for the first week and she was ok then.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I really hope she's not allergic to the ponies!!

Im allergic to hay and straw which is a right pain but i suffer with it for the love of horses,

has she tried any anti histamine (sp) tablets they really work for me.

I'm allergic to horses, hay and straw, nightmare.

I am much worse when at someone else's yard or around new horses. It may be that the Shetties have triggered her reaction. She should take an antihistamine. Hope it passes as it's a b****y nightmare!
