Sunday was our first competitve ride of the season.

So washed his tail and off we went to chester.
Got to the yard at 6 and got the monster in. he knew something was up and was on his toes and didn't want any breakfast. Loaded up and off we went. I completly over estimated the time needed and got there an hour early :o but at least I had plenty of time to get everything ready as I had no crew.

Inital vetting went fine, so tacked up and off we went.

It was a lovely ride, with lots of canter opportunities. The best part of it was when we went along a bridle path that went through the zoo, we saw, llamas, african donkeys and cheetahs. Gosh can they move fast :D.

Really pleased with Clip, he was getting tired towards the end, but he really isn't as fit as I would like. We averaged over 11 mph. However I messed up at the end vetting and Clip got cold he started to shiver just as the vet was taking his pulse and I could see it going up :frown: Amazingly it was 46, if only I had kept the rug on longer I imagine it would of been about 38.

But all in all a good first time out. Roll on next week. :)

Amazingly he didn't bother, all i got was a 'mum, are you sure this is a good idea?' glance.
No we came third, but the points are what count rather than placings and we got a very respectable 31.49. Anything over 20 is ok.

Well done!! Sounds like a lovely ride. I'd like to give endurance a go over here. I did it briefly in Dubai but all the sand dunes look the same
