Think I'm going to be sore tomorrow!

Took Moo to dressage this morning (will post a small report and some pics in the pic section) and she got very sweaty compared to normal so decided I needed to get round to clipping. Wasn't sure how she was going to react. Got the clippers out and she didn't care. Clipped her side and under her belly on one side with no problems then she turned in to a cowbag! Trying to spin and kick and rear and just wouldn't let me carry on! No reason for the change in temperment at all! After almost getting kicked several times I gave up on that idea!

So out came the sedolin! At this point Milly wanted the sedolin no where near her so que a big battle to get it in her mouth lol in which she almost dislocated my shoulder lol.

Finally got her sedated and 15 mins later she stood like a lamb to be clipped. So now she's full clipped (if a little patchy lol).

Feeling really bad as I cut her with the clippers clipping under her front legs :(
Not really sure how it happened. Hope she forgives and forgets and it's less stressful next time!

Arms are already sore!

Ahh Poor Milly! I'm sure it will be easier next time! I clipped Rhia last week and she got a bit stroppy when I clipped under her tummy but took her outside and finished her off and she was fine! She loves being clipped around her head and her head lowers and she goes really dopey - silly horse!

im undecided weather i like clipping or not, when your doing a good horse it can be quite therputic and enjoyable but something nuaght just drives me mad, Dennis was a ******* to clip, i couldnt do it, when he was at college the yard manager clipped him it took five headcollars several people and two injections and he still wasnt clipped very well and wouldnt let the yard manager near him for weeks with anything in her hand they were all magically clippers

Poor Milly, hope it isn't to bad, this is why I would never let myself loose with clippers.

Oh good to hear that Molly was good for you in the end! Did you have to call the vet to give the Sedolin?

Exactly why Syd has sedalin and a twitch... although I don't get half way through before he starts! Glad you weren't too badly hurt xx
