Sadly, it's only the grass variety!

Having had a set of letters for years and years roughly in the right place round the field i've never really used them as my field's square/ circular rather than rectangular.

Decided to use the space in the turnout field to measure out a proper arena, which turned out to be no mean feat! Despite the field being a good 2 acres finding a 20 x 40m space that was flat and rut free was a major challenge. Equally i never realised quite how big that size is until i started measuring it out!

In the end i had to make do with a 20 x 30m as that was all we could manage size wise to keep things level. Dad topped it to get rid of the nettles so now it almost resembles burghley  or maybe not...

Can't wait to try it out and be able to actually run through tests before competitions, if our marks don't start improving after all this effort, i give up! lol

it makes a differecne having somewhere marked out to ride in i have an arean but its a short one and its amazing how different it is if i have to ride in a long one,

one pointer though if you ever branch out into dressage to music remeber to make in longer, my areana is just short of 40m and that meter or two difference makes a huge impact on my music timings

Yay for arenas! I had a very similar problem with our fields but having somewhere to put the letters is so nice!

Enjoy!

Oh, and don't you dare say anything about your dressage test marks. You are doing a beautiful job with that mare.

I'll be having to do the same soon!!!

With BCE not having a showing season she is going to attempt some dressage!! She absolutely hates it but we are going to do it to keep Darli fit and ready for the beginning of next year.

Enjoy your arena!
