HELP quick!!!!!!!!!

Jester has a lump on his back, hes had it since I got him at 6months old, yesterday it looked like he had been grooming and one of them caught it, a tiny dent in it, just a moment ago I felt it, it is very soft and I only lighting squeezed it and this orange stuff came shooting out!!!

I cleaned it up but didn't want to touch it incase I made it worse.

What is it? What shall I do?

Sounds like its full of puss, when you touch it does he react? Where about on his back is it? Would it be near the withers? Id get all the goo out of it then put some antisepic cream on it, me being me Id probably get the vet out but that might not be necessary

Sounds like a cyst, its a harmless lump tht gets filled with stuff.

It doesn't bother him at all.

Its right in the saddle area but lucky enough the saddle doesn't touch it.

Id just get the goo out of it then, give it a wash with salty water then apply antiseptic cream, can you take a picture of it?

I would say if its not bothering him it prob just a cyst. Try get what you can out and keep it clean and see how it goes. If it refills I would call the vet.x

Its a cyst, they can be around for years. If you have a syringe, flush it out then let it close, just add some cream or something antibacterial.

Same as everyone else. Jasper had one along his back, I got all the Goo out, cleaned it up and put some cream on, made sure it stayed clean and its all gone now.

I'm with the others. If its not hurting him then I'd keep it clean. I am a fan of Hibiscrub. :D

If it does look as if its getting worse, then yes, call out a vet. :)

It should go down Rhea but the likelyhood is if it is a cyst it will prob fill back up.

I squeezed a lot out today but there is a bit of blood coming out with it? is this normal? but its gone down a lot since last night.

My mums Friend said to, I think string or something like that and whip it off?!:confused:

Blood is good as its cleans it out. It wont hurt him, honest.

That is exactly what Jasper's looked like, I just kept squeezing, blood came out, pus the lot, then kept it clean, and it's completely gone away, I think in the end it stopped filling up and the top came off which left what looked like a nasty cut, I just kept that clean and it healed lovely.

Just keep squeezing it! You won't hurt him. Just make sure you keep it clean x
