A lot depends on what size and age of horse. What your doing with it etc. I found overall prices were higher when i lived in scotland.

Most yards don't do grass livery during the winter. You'd probably be looking upwards for £250 a month in winter including all the above bits!

I am lucky! I have grass livery all year round and only pay £10 per week. (£4 extra in the winter, per pony for hay) But our yard isn't a livery yard as such, more like friends and family of the owner so they try to keep it as cheap as possible for us.

For just grass it is £12.50, per a horse, per a week - All year round.

Hay - small about are about £4.50 but we get the big round ones at £25.00, last me a week but I do have 6 horses to feed.

Straw - small is £1.65, large bales are £13.00 and even larger £20.

Insurance is £56 x6 horses for liability and rider insurance but for you it should be about £20 a month.

Feed - Depends on if you have a god doer, If so just a big bag of hi-fi/Fibengy at £10.50 a bag, that last a few months wll do you.

Wormers - £20 but would have worm counts done at £9.50 every year too.
Feet - £20 a trim, £50 a set of shoes.
Rugs - Lightweight allow £20, Medium allow £35 and Heavy allow £50.

Hopefully your horse will come with well fited tack.

God things are really cheap where you are rhea!!

Big hay bales are at least £35 here and smalls bales of straw are £3.50, even from farmers now! Grass livery starts at £17 per week.

The cheapest I've ever found insurance for one horse including vets bills cover is just under £40 a month and shoes start at £65 a set ... I might move!! :D

Well that was last year, I am dreading how much they are going to charge me this year! won't be able to afford £50 a week on a round hay :frown:

When we first started with them a round bale was only £10.00!!!!! :scared:

Spock probably costs me £100 roughly per month including livery and hay (and then £160 ever few months when he gets shod/wormed/buying bedding) at the moment.

Going up to £200+ now from Sept, when I move.
