Ours is council and was rented out to me and 9 others but then they all eventually left and I asked to take the whole field over, costing me a lot but it paid off as now I have the whole lease!

I asked local farmers. I just went and asked straight out. Didnt know any farmers as was new to area, first farmer I asked said no but have since found out the field I asked about isnt theirs anyway (they actually dont own any land, sold up years ago, strange people pretend all the land round here is theirs!), the second farmer I asked, (the first one who does actually own land lol) said yes....
Just go and knock on a farmers door, if they dont have anything for you, chances are they will know someone who has.

I saw my yard became empty, walked up the huge drive of the bloke who owned it was proper nervous but just asked him straight out if he would rent the yard out. It paid off, I've got to go and have a hunt about around here for some extra grazing in the next month for the babies for winter.

I've found places in the past by just going and asking at farms. If they haven't got anything then you can ask if they know of anyone who might have land to rent.
You can also try agricultural agent websites for land to rent, although I always found the acreage was far bigger than I was after.
