As it's coming upto winter I'm looking for some new winter boots for riding. Don't want smart looking ones, as they'll be used at the yard and for hacking. They need to be warm and waterproof, slim fitting but short enough to fit my ickle legs. Blessed with legs upto my arm pits I'm not :(

Like show boots? I find them uncomfortable and not very warm

Have you tried the lined boots?
I tend to just wear wellies for the yard and my jod boots and chaps but I wear my long wooly socks stuart bought me last xmas and they keep my tootsies nice and snuggly warm.

I have the Rydale version on the Toggi Canyon and I love mine! So warm, comfortable, waterproof and I wear mine for all duties round the yard, for work and often just general walking around they are that comfortable! Much cheaper than the other version and your like me in that you have short legs and I have no problems with the length :)

I treated myself to Toggi Canyon last month, one week later I wore them to lead two 3 mile bach hacks in quick sucession (First lot of riders off, second lot on and off we go) No blisters, very comfy boot! Up until that point, Mountain Horse High Rider, had them for 4 years, still in really good condition (I do look after my boots, polished once a week on average), very comfy once they are worn in and mine are big enough to fit a nice warm pair of riding socks under.

I always say this, but if your budget stretches to it then I'd go for Ariat Grasmeres, best boots I have ever had in my life. So warm, comfortable, clean up beautifully and still totally waterproof after three hard winters! I use them for all dog walking, yard and riding duties!

I have Dublin River Boots, I've had the same pair for two years and I absolutely love them!!
Mine died big style within about two months made me well angry cause they were not cheap but could wear them for everything but no hardwearing enough

I have short thin calves and a pair of toggi canyon boots, they are too wide for riding but ok for yard work. Dont really wear them now as have dubarrys but will wear them in winter when helping oh out on farm etc. Also have the toggi caLgary boots they are proper riding boots and fit better for riding even with my thin calves.

I have Dublin Pinnacle boots and think they're awesome. Smart, comfortable, easy to clean, warm, nice looking, can walk for miles, hack in them, school and jump in them.

Woof boots are fab, padded warm with a reflective bit ob the outside and a chap kinda bit on the inside, they are about £40 in places like mole valley etc, although they are cheaper on tinternet, they kept my tootsies warm and dry all through the rain and snow last year, but i would get a size smaller as they do give a lot. x

^^^ This is what I currently have, they are now a few years old and they fall down and then when I'm riding get stuck beneath the saddle flap. They were good when new but I don't like how they are collapsing regardless of how tight I pull the velcro, plus they seem to have sprung a leak somewhere.
