Hi My pony about a week to 2 week ago had a fall onto both of his need in the field.

We were just trotting along as normal and he tripped ,shot his head out and ended up on the floor with his front legs. I got offf walked him around and he seemed slightly saw but was ok once hed had is tea and back in his field.

The next day we took on a hack and wasn`t his self just plodding about so we decided to cut it short and come home but on the flat he was fine so we were just thinking he was saw so gave him 2 days off on the Saturday rode him back in the field and he was okayish and then sunday hacked him and was perfect nothing wrong at all. Wed of the new week he wa bad his right front leg seemed to be giving way but theres never been any swelling or heat or even looking lame or hurt apart from today but then he was ok on the flat and walking to his field once again .

We started to hose his legs off everyday and rode him a few days later to see how he was and was worse again but still ok in the field and it wasn`t borthering him in hisself and still seemed happy it was just trot he was bad in. Sunday we took him for a walk out and didn`t get far at all , He was just giving way again and that was making him trip so we decided not to ride again untill we find out what it is. The yards people were telling us to ride nwo and again so it dosn`t stiffen up and we never knew it was bad untill he started to move it properly sort of thing so thats why we rode.

Anyway, last night i brought him up the rather long walk way to hose his legs and he was trippingand sort of dragging his front but then it was ok then wernt. On the way back down he was worse than ever and his front and back right were dragging slightly but his front it sort of gives way then jerks causing him to trip . He started trotting in his field to his friends and had to stop when it gave way :( :(

I am having someone come lunge him tonight to see if we can see anything wrong and i think the vet will also be visiting him.

But please if anyone knows what i can do to help, what it could be etc... please help me 'coz its really not like him to be a slowcoach and abit down hes ussually full of fire :(

Yes, vet sounds like a very good idea to me. He's obviously got a problem & without knowing what it is, you don't know how to deal with it, but I suspect working him is not a good move ATM. Let him take it easy & get the vet ASAP.

I wouldn't be riding him till a vet has seen him. There's obviously something up and until the vet figures out what then you wont really know if he needs rest or turn out.
I also wouldn't lunge him tonight unless the vet is there to see, you can do a lot of permanent damage to a joint if its already injured and you do the wrong thing.

Any injury need a joint needs a vet really anyway they can get quickly infected and might need fluyshing. If he is tripping i would not ride just incase he falls when you are on. Is he a clumsy horse by nature or is it since. He hurt his leg? It could be its healing tight and making walking a little uncomfortable but if he is tripping on and off back and front and is generally uncoordinated it sounds almost wobbler like but its a hard one to diagnose

He's on 2 days of bute and a week of rest from work but still don`t know whats wrong apart from his stiff in his back right causing him to give way in his front although his front acted up before his back and to me his back legs stiffened because he can`t move properly with his front sort of thing :/ :/

Did the vet say where on the back leg he is stiff?

Has the vet been to see him? It could be that he gave his neck a bit of a jolt out in the field and that is causing his uncoordination and tripping. He could have an abscess in his cervical spine, he could have a bit of muscle pain in his neck.
How old is he?
I wouldn't lunge him if he is tripping up that much. He's bound to trip on the lunge if he's doing it on straight lines anyway.

He is 13 and he was surprisingly better on the lunge which is also confusing :/
