Lola is my little 3 year old pure bred exmoor. Got her a year ago completely unhandled and she was... umm... interesting to get used to people. It certainly took a while and for quite a bit she only liked me and not anyone else but now she is brilliant with most people and even kids can lead her around.
Took her in hand showing this year and she has been brilliant! never placed lower than 3rd out of 5 shows.
Very very hardy! Exmoors are most like wild ponies so very easy to look after - they have special coats which are ultra thick with two linings, top is waterproof and even stays relatively thick in summer and is quite wirey and shiny. second is fluffy insulation layer so can go out easily unrugged even in coldest of weathers and keeps heat in so snow lands on her back and doesnt melt. she also has a special tail that lets rain run off easily.
