Well done CL. I want to do all the stages, but my friend has just failed her stage 3 and I am scared I will too, if she can fail, I definitely will!!

Whoop whoop, well done you! :D
Do you still have to do 500 hours of teaching?
Stage 3 riding is fine, the only difference between 2 & 3 IMO is that the horses were slightly greener and you have to take them XC but I did it 10 years ago so I imagine it's very different now.
Good luck. Xx

I dont think the stage 3 riding has xhanged much but im making sure i do lots of preparing honestly dont think people realise how hard they are to do its alright doing things every day but doing it perrfectly with people watching you ready to fail you is pretty nerve wracking makes you doubt almost everything you are doing they are really hard

Well done, that's fantastic! What does the exam consist of these days? I used to work at an exam centre yard a few years ago but I heard they changed the format of it all. I'd like to do it one day... *dreams*

they have changed it a little a bit, the empahsis is all about coaching not teaching so you teach two lessons, either a jump and a lead rein or a flat and lunge, so that you can show you are able to handle the horse and rider and equipment, be it jumps or lunge gear, the flat and jump are small groups around 3 riders, theres set briefs that you prepare lesson topics for each, then you have to do lectures to the other candidates and examiners but prapre all the material for 12 topics which you get in the PTT pack, but they are apparently changing this, its things like ethical teaching codes, goal setting, nutrtion for the rider, teaching dsiabled riders etc and then all the other bits are mopped up in a q&A with the examiner, things like jump distances, forms, insurance etc

you also have to evaulate yourself throughout the day and fill in risk assesments etc, and then when you have done the exam to incroporate the UKCC you also do a portoflio of teaching, four riders all sorsts of lesson plans and goal setting risk assements etc its quite hefty now changed alot even in the few years i left college

Congrats on passing!
Shows a great connection with your clients, if them not coming anymore effects you, you must have a great rapport with them :)

would have to say out of all the exams the PTT is by far the most stressful nerve wracking thing ive done! Its so hardwork and really stressed me out, make sure you get alot of practice in, and in a group situation like riding schools with a really good mix of riders, no good just being able to teach a decent rider you need the skills and knowledge to help a beginer in an effective and interesting way as well which can be tricky
